Tina Knowles Always Protecting Daughters


Beyoncé Knowles? mother Tina finds it ?exhausting? trying to protect the star from the harsh realities of fame.

Tina Knowles enjoys a close bond with her superstar daughter and the pair run a fashion house together. Tina is fiercely protective of Beyoncé and her younger sister, songwriter Solange Knowles. She finds it hard to cope when her daughters are followed by paparazzi or publicly criticised, but she does her best to keep her family out of the spotlight.

"Hearing untrue rumours and protecting them from the negative side of the entertainment industry is the biggest challenge," she said recently. "I am very fortunate that I have such close relationships with both of my daughters. I not only enjoy a really great friendship with both my girls, but also a close mother-daughter bond as well. I have always tried to be as open and honest as possible with the girls growing up. I let them know they could always come to me with anything - and I would be there to support them."

Raising two famous daughters has been a challenge, but Tina is proud of how they conduct themselves and inspire their fans,

"The amazing memories I have of them as children and watching them become who they are today truly outweigh any disagreements we may have had - and every family has them!" she said. "But there were never any serious difficulties with my girls. We always kept them well-protected and maintained family as a priority in our lives."
